After posting mysterious cover art online earlier this week, Playboi Carti made his grand return today with the release of his new single, “.” The song is produced by frequent DaBaby collaborator ​jetsonmade as well as Neeko Baby and Deskhop. It arrives alongside a new music video that matches up to the cover art he shared.

Playboi Carti has been relatively quiet ever since the release of 2018’s Die Lit. He spent much of last year teasing its follow-up, Whole Lotta Red, but thus far little concrete information about the album has surfaced. Drake recently earned headlines for teasing an unreleased Carti collaboration that may appear on Whole Lotta Red.

“I’m ready. I’m more ready than y'all. I’m trying to prove to these folks that I can rap,” Carti told Australia’s Culture Kings about the album. “I got bars. That’s what Whole Lotta Red is about.”

Lil Uzi Vert later responded by posting a alternate version of the cover art with the caption “Just Meh.”
